(KMOV.com) – A mother allegedly bit her child's face, leaving lacerations and imprints.

Police said that the child's mother is a student at UMSL.

The mother is facing felony charges for child abuse and neglect. The university said the mother Rebekah Perry, 35, got in an argument with family members and ended up biting her 14-year-old daughter. When police arrived, the university said the mother was gone and the children were home alone.

Perry  allegdly bit her daughter’s face and left a teeth imprint. Police said it happened at University Meadows, a privately owned housing complex located on the UMSL property.

Police said Perry was home with her four children when the incident happened. Nobody was taken to the hospital, and the children were taken to a relative’s home.
