(KMOV.com) – Police in St. Clair County conducted a surprise sweep Friday and arrested thirty people wanted for various crimes.
Authorities told News 4 police from Cahokia, Belleville, Fairview Heights and East Carondelet made 110 traffic and pedestrian stops, which resulted in 25 arrests. Police also said many of those arrested were wanted for outstanding felony or misdemeanor warrants. Six suspects were charged with drug crimes. According to police, 40 traffic tickets were issued.
St. Clair County Sheriff Rick Watson said authorities will conduct more operations over the summer where officers will spend several hours making traffic stops and seeking out tips from the public.
