CENTREVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Metro-East man faces 10 charges after he shot a Fairview Heights police officer and led authorities on a chase in the Metro East on September 25.
Dallas F. McIntosh, 28, was charged Wednesday with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery, armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.
Police said McIntosh was pulled over for an unspecified offense at the intersection of Highway 50 and Bunham Road in Fairview Heights, Illinois around 3 a.m.
After running the identification of the suspect, the officer called for K9 units.
As the officer was returning to the McIntosh’s vehicle, he allegedly pulled out a weapon and opened fire, striking the officer in the hand.
The officer returned fire and hit McIntosh as he fled.
Authorities began chasing the suspect in Fairview Heights. The pursuit ended in Centreville after the suspect crashed into a garage on Pershing Street.
McIntosh was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he was monitored by police.
A judge set McIntosh’s bond at $2 million.
