GRANITE CITY (KMOV) – A Metro-East man was charged Monday after allegedly punching his father and attacking several women during a domestic dispute.
Danny G. Linhart Jr., 30, was charged Monday with felony aggravated battery and three counts of domestic battery.
According to authorities, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to 515 Thorngate Drive in Granite City in reference to a domestic disturbance on July 27.
Deputies were told the disturbance began with Linhart Jr. attempted to forcefully take a set of car keys from his 60-year-old father’s pants pocket.
After refusing to hand over the keys, Linhart Jr. reportedly pushed his father several times, knocking him over a couch and onto the living room floor. As the argument continued, Linhart Jr. physically attacked and battered three other female occupants of the home.
Upon arriving, deputies say Linhart Jr. fled the home on foot towards Illinois Route 3.
A Madison County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit was able to locate Linhart Jr. hiding in a wooded area near Illinois Route 3.
Linhart Jr. was taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail where he was held pending a formal investigation.
No one was seriously injured during the incident.
Bond was set at $50,000.
