(KMOV.com) – A 19-year-old Target employee is in a Metro East jail after police say he was caught stealing from his employer.

On Christmas Eve, Shiloh police responded to a call from the Target located in the 3400 block of Greenmount Crossing Drive.

Officers were told one of Target’s security guards had Virgil Lockett, an employee from Cahokia, in custody on accusations of theft.

Police arrived and took Lockett into custody. After an investigation, Lockett was charged with two counts of retail theft of more than $300.

Lockett is being held on $15,000 bond.
