Metro Bus driver hospitalized after being assaulted while driving
St. Louis, Mo. (KMOV) – Authorities are searching for a woman suspected of assaulting a Metro Bus driver on Sunday afternoon.
Police said an unknown female assaulted the 25-year-old bus driver after she starting stripping for a male passenger on the bus.
The bus driver asked the suspect and male passenger to stop the inappropriate conduct and asked the passengers to exit the bus at the stop on 14th and Cole at 4:18 p.m. As the suspect walked forward to exit the bus, she punched the bus driver in the face.
During the assault, the bus rolled forward onto the sidewalk and into a parked vehicle.
The unknown suspect and the male acquaintance got off of the bus and into a silver Grand Prix before driving southbound on 14th.
The Union that represents Metro drivers says situations like this are common and is calling for roaming security guards to ride along.
Police described the suspect as a black female, between 25 and 30-years-old with long red braids. Police said the woman is 5-foot-5 and 200 pounds. She was last seen wearing a grey shirt and dark blue jeans.
