Man wanted in attempted robbery of St. Louis dollar store

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - St. Louis Police are seeking a man who they say attempted to rob a dollar store.

Police say the man attempted to rob the Family Dollar in the 3700 block of Martin Luther King Drive close to 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 18.

According to authorities, the suspect approached the counter and demanded money while revealing a weapon. The clerk could not open the cash register so the suspect fled.

Police describe the suspect as a black male who is 25-30-years-old, 5-feet ten inches and 6-feet tall, and between 160 and180 pounds.  Police say he left the scene in a green sports utility vehicle with a  black rim on the right front tire.
