FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV)—A man was shot by his friend outside a Florissant bowling alley Sunday night.

Police say the incident began when two men were leaving the Olympic Lanes bowling alley in the 12,000 block of New Halls Ferry Road after a night of drinking on Sunday. The victim reportedly offered the suspect, Timothy Rogers, a ride home after he appeared to be overly intoxicated.

As both men exited the bowling alley, Rogers, 45, got angry for an unknown reason and began fighting with the 36-year-old victim in the bowling alley parking lot. The fight escalated when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot his friend once.

Officers found the victim in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

One hour later, Rogers turned himself in at the Florissant Police Department. He is charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action.

He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $50,000 bond.
