(KMOV) – Police say one of two men from Indianapolis was shot on Wednesday after driving to the St. Louis area to purchase a Chevrolet Camaro advertised on Craigslist.

Authorities say when the two men arrived at an address they were given in Wellston, four suspects came out and demanded money.

Police say one of the suspects then fired an AK-47 assault rifle, hitting a 21-year-old victim in the neck. The other victim put his friend in their vehicle and drove to the nearest hospital.

The shooting and robbery was discovered after a police officer saw the victims’ vehicle driving over the speed limit and pulled it over.

Police say three of the suspects were black men wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts. They were about 25 years old with think builds and all were armed with long guns. The other suspect was described as an Indian man wearing dark clothing with a medium build.

None of the suspects are in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
