(KMOV) – Shrewsbury Police have arrested the man who attacked a driver after he believed the man clipped his scooter in Shrewsbury on Friday.

Police say they received a tip that lead to the man’s arrest on Sunday. He was issued a citation for third-degree assault.

Authorities say the suspect was riding a scooter when he believed the driver of another vehicle had clipped him while driving near Shrewsbury and Suffolk. The two drivers pulled over, exited their vehicles, and the suspect proceeded to punch the victim in the mouth.

“He didn’t think he had been in an accident with the motorized bike and he was just trying to pull over to sort through the details,” said an officer with the Shrewsbury Police Department. “All of a sudden, he (the victim) was punched in the face.”
