Shooting victim in critical condition after robbery, sexual abuse in north St. Louis

(KMOV) -- Police are investigating a shooting and sexual abuse that stemmed from a robbery in north St. Louis early Friday morning.

The incident occurred in the 2000 block of E. Grand around 1:45 a.m.

Police say a man and two women ages 34, 31, and 23, were walking on a sidewalk in the 1900 block of E. Grand when they saw two men following them. They victims attempted to let the men pass when one of the suspects pointed a gun at them and demanded their belongings. The victims then fled.

One suspect chased the male victim and shot him in the bicep and torso. He was taken to a hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

The second suspect ran after the 23-year-old female victim and put his hand down her shirt. He took items from her pocket then stole the other female victim's purse and fled the scene, according to police.

Police are searching for a black man in his early 20s about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He has shoulder length dreadlocks, medium complexion, and was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants. The second suspect is also a black man in his early 20s about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black and red t-shirt and black pants.
