ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – One  person is in custody after a man was shot, killed and found inside of a car in South City early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Police said 18-year-old Napolean Plummer was found dead in a Ford Focus near Courtois and Vermont at 1:05 a.m. According to police, several people called authorities to report shots fired in the area.

Plummer and a 17-year-old friend went to a home in the area to purchase a car.  Plummer and the 26-year-old suspect became engaged in an argument and Plummer fired a gun at the man's house.  As Plummer and his friend were leaving the scene, the suspect fatally shot Plummer, according to police.

A News 4 photographer on the scene noticed several shell casings in the front yard of a home roughly seven blocks away in the 7200 block of Michigan.

The suspect's name has not been released but police say he is in custody.

No other details were immediately available.
