(KMOV.com) -- A 51-year-old St. Louis faces sentencing for setting a 2011 fire at a St. Louis high-rise apartment building that put a person on life support.
Michael Grimes on Thursday was found guilty of first-degree arson, first-degree burglary and third-degree assault.
On Aug. 4, 2011, Grimes broke into his ex-boyfriend’s apartment in the 3800 block of Lindell and acted like he was going to shoot up the place.
He returned later that evening and set fire to the apartment. A neighbor living in the building was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and remained on life support for four days.
A sentencing hearing for Grimes is scheduled for Aug. 9.
