ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The search is on for a suspect who tried to throw off authorities by putting on women's clothing to rob a credit union in Dellwood was robbed on Friday.

The incident happened around 4:30 Friday afternoon in the 10020 block of West Florissant.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’6” to 5’8” with a thin build.  Police say the suspect was wearing woman’s clothing, heavy makeup, a plain black ball cap, a long black curly wig, knit scarf, gloves, black top, black pants, knee-length boots and a purse.

Initially investigators believed they were looking for a female suspect, but soon realized she was a he.

Witnesses describe the robber having a handgun with him.  No one was injured. The robber fled the scene after taking an undisclosed amount of money.
