(KMOV.com) -- A 19-year-old man has been charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint in a downtown Belleville parking lot.

Brandon Goff was charged with one count of armed robbery, a class X felony.

On Feb. 21, the victim told police she was entering her vehicle in a parking lot on S. High and E. Washington when an unknown man approached her. Authorities say the man opened the victim's car door, then pointed a handgun at her. The suspect demanded her purse, according to police, then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police later found a vehicle matching the description near West Blvd. and Fair Oaks. When officers approached the vehicle, two men fled from police on foot.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspect vehicle and gathered evidence. The investigation led police to Goff, who was arrested without incident on Friday afternoon.

An investigation is ongoing, as police search for others who may have been involved in the robbery.

Goff remains in custody on $500,000 bond.
