ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Additional charges have been filed against a man accused in at least eight robberies in the St. Louis area.
Merrell Burch, 26, was charged Friday with five counts of first-degree robbery for allegedly robbing five different businesses from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6.
Burch has already been charged on Tuesday with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia for two other alleged robberies.
The latest incident happened Monday night when Burch allegedly walked into the Subway in the 4600 block of Chippewa in south St. Louis.
Police said on Saturday, Burch robbed the Quick-Trip in the 6900 block of Gravois.
Before that Burch allegedly robbed the Walgreens in the 7300 block of Gravois on Dec. 24, the Walgreens in the 3800 block of S. Kingshighway on Dec. 26, the Walgreens in the 5500 block of S. Grand on Dec. 29, The Save A Lot in the 4300 block of Loughborough and the 7-11 in the 5600 block of Gravois on Jan. 6.
Police said in all robberies, Burch revealed a weapon, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store.
Burch is also believed to be responsible for one other robbery, but charges in the incident have yet to be filed.
