MADISON COUNTY, Il (KMOV.com) – After an investigation into a series of residential burglaries in northeastern Madison County, police have arrested James Stufflebean, 35, for the crimes.
Between June 26 and July 12, six area burglaries occurred. All of the burglaries occurred during the day time hours while the occupants were away from their homes.
During the afternoon hours of Friday, forensic evidence led investigators to Stufflebean. Investigators located Stufflebean, who is homeless, on Friday evening at a home in Granite City, Illinois.
Stufflebean was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Jersey County, Illinois and St. Louis County, Missouri.
Investigators have been successful in locating a number of the items stolen in the burglaries and are continuing with the investigation. Stufflebean’s bond was set at $150,000.00
