(KMOV)-- A Jennings man was charged for murder on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Brandis McCollier.

Keith Stubblefield, 38, is charged for one count of murder in the first degree and one count of armed criminal action.

According to police, around 2:30am on Monday, Jennings Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired in an apartment located on the 2600 block of Tyrell.

Police Officers discovered that the victim identified as, 23-year-old Brandis McCollier, had been fatally shot inside her apartment.

Stubblefield and McCollier had one child together.

A 6-year-old child and infant were in the apartment at the time of the shooting but were not injured. The infant is the child of the two. The six year old is neither ones child.

Police are still looking into the possible motive for the shooting but believe that two had been arguing for days prior to the shooting.
