CAHOKIA, Illinois (KMOV) -- Two teenage girls from Cahokia are recovering after they were allegedly shot by an 18-year old man Sunday morning.
Amos Bullocks is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery. His bond was set at $1 million.
Police said Bullocks shot a 16-year old girl in the neck and buttocks around 5 a.m. Sunday. Authorities said she ran to a nearby apartment complex on Falling Springs Road to get help and was transported to the hospital.
Police said a detective went to the hospital to visit the victim about three hours later and was told her 17-year old friend had been shot.
Before the detective could alert his colleague, a passerby found the friend in a nearby wooded area with two gunshot wounds to the head.
That second victim was transported to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Police said she was alert and talking when she was transported to the hospital.
Bullocks has not been charged with shooting her.
