ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police have charged a man who allegedly robbed two female Saint Louis University students near campus this week. The suspect is also accused in two other robberies in the St. Louis area.
Andre Lowery, 32, was charged Friday with three counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of armed criminal action and first-degree attempted robbery.
According to police, the Lowery approached a woman on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of Lindell around 10 p.m. Sunday night. He then brandished a small handgun and demanded the victim’s bag.
Authorities said on Thursday, Lowery approached a different woman near the intersection of Lindell and Spring Ave. around 2 a.m. He displayed a silver handgun and fled the scene with the victim’s cell phone and purse.
Neither victim was hurt during the robberies.
Lowery was also wanted for allegedly robbing the Family Dollar in the 3700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King on Jan. 18. According to police, he walked into the business showing a gun and demanded money. But the clerk could not open the cash register and Lowery fled the scene.
Police Lowery suspect committed a second robbery on Sunday when he approached a man in the 3100 block of Arkansas and revealed a gun. He then took the victim’s cell phone and laptop and ran from the scene.
