Officers shoot 2 wanted suspects in East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police in East St. Louis, Illinois shot two suspects in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

Police told News 4 they attempted to pull over a vehicle after receiving a tip subjects of an out-of-state warrant were in East St. Louis.   

When police initiated the stop, the suspect backed up, hit two pedestrians, and crashed into a officer's car.  At that point, police shot the driver and passenger of the car.

One suspect was taken into custody inside the car, another tried to run but was quickly apprehended, according to police on the scene.

The pedestrians that were struck did not sustain serious injuries.

Other details were not immediately known.
