(KMOV.com) – Police told News 4 they are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman at a hair salon in Union.

Police said Vennie Dowel walked into Kacey’s Hair Kreations and posed as a customer before he committed a crime.

“Things went bad from there she was assaulted in a sexual manner she did not receive any injuries but it was a very traumatic incident for her,” said Union Police Chief Norman Brune.

Police said Dowel groped the victim before he tried to take her into a back room, but he then ran off. Authorities believe Dowel had been stalking his victim for some time.

“The subject did speak as if he had been watching her from time to time but she didn't know him at all,” Brune said.

If Dowel is caught, he faces charges for burglary and sexual abuse. Police believe he may be hiding out with family.
