(KMOV) – A west St. Louis County pharmacist is accused of stealing thousands of pills from his place of employment.

Robert Garrett, 63,  was charged with two counts of felony stealing of a controlled substance.

After store employees noticed a shortage of certain medications, a hidden camera was put in place and allegedly captured Garrett stealing hydrocodone and xanax pills while on duty at the Des Peres Walgreens Pharmacy located on 12000 block of Manchester Road.

Officers say he admitted to stealing more than 1,500 pills between November 2012 and December 2013.

A $30,000 bond was set Garrett.
