A Lemay man is now being charged with being a chronic DWI offender after he allegedly committed his fifth offense.
Police say Joel Perrin, 44, was more than three times over the legal limit when he crashed his vehicle into a telephone poll in Lemay around 1:30 a.m.
He told officers he had been drinking since 9 a.m. the day before.
Perrin was found guilty to the same offense in 1992, twice in 1993 and again in 2000.
