(KMOV) – A Lincoln County man was charged after he was accused of passing sexually transmitted diseases to a victim younger than ten years old.
Lavonte Baldwin was charged with two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office officials say the investigation began after the female victim was being treated for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia at a local hospital.
After authorities learned the victim recently had contact with Baldwin, they found out he too was treated for Chlamydia and was also suspected of having Gonorrhea.
Authorities said Baldwin attempted to refute the claims of sexual contact by saying the victim contracted the diseases through his bed sheets or a toilet. Police say he later admitted to foundling the girl for sexual gratification.
Baldwin is at the Lincoln County Jail under a $250,000 cash-only bond and no contact with the victim.
