Kitchen knife, box cutter recovered after Sunday morning stabbing

De Soto, Mo. (KMOV) – Two suspects are in custody after a man was stabbed multiple times by a kitchen knife and a box cutter early Sunday morning.

According to police, John Wenzelburger, 31, was found in a home in the 700 block of South Second suffering from multiple stab wounds at 2:20 a.m.

Wenzelburger was flown by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. 

Police said Wenzelburger told officers that a 17-year-old from De Soto and Jacob Peppers, 23, were responsible for the incident.  Both are currently being held on no bond warrants.

A kitchen knife and box cutter were taken from the scene as evidence.
