(KMOV.com) – A University of Illinois football assistant and former SLUH standout has been placed on leave after facing gun charges.

Matt Sinclair, the assistant director of player personnel and relations at University of Illinois, will be allowed to keep his $80,000 per year salary after he told police that he jokingly pointed a gun at fellow staff members on Interstate 74 on Saturday.
