(KMOV.com) – The mother of a girl allegedly killed by her uncle will be released from an Effingham jail Thursday.

Ciara DeRyke, 26, pleaded guilty in January to obstructing a police officer in the search for her 7-year-old daughter Willow Long and was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

DeRyke served half of her sentence before being released. She also has to spend 18 months on probation.

DeRyke originally told authorities she saw her daughter on Sept. 8. Now, DeRyke has admitted to authorities that the last time she saw Long was the day before her disappearance.

Justin DeRyke is accused of killing the daughter of Ciara DeRyke, Willow Long, near her home in Watson, a village about 100 miles northeast of St. Louis.

Investigators say DeRyke insisted he killed his niece to “put her out of her misery” after he says she fell onto a brush pile and pierced her neck. He then allegedly dumped her body in a nearby river.

DeRyke has pleaded not guilty and is jailed on $5 million bond.
