(KMOV.com) – Police are searching for the person who hit a handicapped man with a car in Calverton Park May 29.

Police said a driver rammed into hit Albert Rocatt, 65, near the intersection of New Florissant and Interstate 270.

Rocatt told News 4 he does not remember anything about the accident. Rocatt said he was left unconscious by the driver, who police said drove away after the accident. Rocatt said a good samaritan walked by and called 911.

“It makes me a little bit angry he could have stopped and see how I was doing mostly anybody would do that,” Rocatt said.

Rocatt, who was already using a prosthetic leg, was left severely injured by the accident and has to use a wheelchair for several weeks while he recovers.

Calverton Park Police told News 4 they are trying to piece together clues. Authorities said pictures show a part of the car, which they believe is a Chevy Monte Carlo that has damage on the passenger’s side.
