(KMOV.com) – A guard at an Illinois prison is facing charges after he allegedly forged documents for defendants.

Kevan Calipar, 42, of Swansea has been charged with forgery. Authorities allege he signed certificates for those accused of DUI’s stating they had completed court ordered treatment even though they had not.

Caliper works at the Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center, but authorities said he was moonlighting as licensed drug and alcohol counselor who operated First Choice DUI Services and Evaluation in Belleville.

After charges were filed, Caliper was not allowed to resume his duties as a guard, but will continue to get paid until a hearing is held to determine if he should be suspended without pay.
