(KMOV.com) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man suspected of stalking and public indecency outside of a woman’s home in East Alton, Ill.

According to police, Joshua D. Brockman, 27, of Grafton was outside a woman’s bedroom window on three separate occasions making lewd comments at her and calling her name.

Police said the first incident happened on April 19 when the woman report an unknown male prowler outside of her bedroom window making lewd comments at her. On April 23, the woman reported the prowler was outside of her bedroom window and was calling her name.

After the second incident, the sheriff’s office installed security cameras to catch the unknown prowler. When officers arrived at her home for a third time on May 1, the camera’s allegedly caught Brockman engaging in a lewd sexual act while he was looking into the victim’s home.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said they dispatched a canine unit to find Brockman at the woman’s home but were unable to locate him, finding only his vehicle. Inside the vehicle officer’s reportedly found a purse that matched the description of one reported stolen out of a vehicle in East Alton earlier in the night.

Friday, police located, questioned and charged Brockman in connection with the purse theft. Officers continued investigating the prowling complaint.

On Monday, Brockman was formally charged with three felony charges of aggravated stalking, one felony charge of unlawful restraint and three misdemeanor charges of public indecency. Brockman’s bond was set at $200,000.
