(KMOV.com) – Ferguson police are investigating a late night Christmas shooting.
According to officers, the victim was walking down Northwinds Estates Drive just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night when two suspects popped out of the bushes wearing ski masks.
The two men demanded money from the 20-year-old victim, and when he did not have any money on him, they shot him in the upper right thigh.
The suspects fled, and the victim was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. Both suspects are said to be black males, with one standing six feet tall with a thin build, the other 5-foot-7 with a heavy build.
Police told News 4 that area of Ferguson has been a problem, several burglaries were reported from that area over the summer. Police are advising residents to be aware of their surroundings.
