MADISON, Ill. (KMOV) -- A credit union in the Metro East that’s become a frequent target of robberies is taking steps to boost security.
The FBI released surveillance photos of the two suspects who used guns to hold up the GCS Federal Credit Union in Madison on Friday.
In the wake of the robbery—the third this year—the credit union hired a security guard to patrol the grounds.
Some customers were demanding something be done because they didn’t feel safe returning to the business.
Police said they’ve recovered some of the money and guns used in the robbery and have taken a woman into custody that they’re calling a “person of interest”
They suspect she may have helped the robbers escape after they were chased by police into north St. Louis.
