ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- A man has been charged after he allegedly tried to shoot his ex-girlfriend outside a St. Louis charter school where she teaches on Wednesday.

Adrian Gore, 32, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, second-degree domestic assault, two counts of armed crminal action and unlawful possession of firearm.

Police said Gore got into the victim's vehicle in the parking lot of Preclarus Master Academy at 620 North Grand Boulevard around 7:30 a.m.

According to police, Gore tried to get the woman to leave with him, but she refused.

He held a gun to the victim’s head and apparently tried to shoot her, but the gun jammed. Gore then hit the woman in the head with the gun.

The victim, 35, escaped the vehicle and called for help. The suspect was taken into custody about a block from the school.

He remains in jail on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
