(KMOV.com) – Prosecutors are making progress toward keeping a man charged in a hit-and-run wreck that killed a 23-year-old woman from driving.

The Clinton County State’s Attorney requested the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to suspend Jonathan Nast’s driver’s license.

Prosecutors said Nast hit and killed 23-year-old Lana Albert June 8 as she was walking on northbound Old US 50. Police said she had just left Big Stix Bar and Grill in Breese, Ill.

He then allegedly drove to Murphysboro, Ill. and sold his truck to a scrap dealer in an attempt to hide it.

Nast was charged with failure to report a motor vehicle accident involving death and obstruction of justice.
