ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- An attempted carjacking in downtown St. Louis resulted in gunfire that damaged the Edward Jones Dome early Sunday morning.

The 21-year-old male victim told authorities he was near the intersection of 7th and Cole around 2:20 a.m. when two suspects approached.

One of the suspects reportedly had a gun and demanded his car.

The victim said he put the car in reverse. That's when one suspect started shooting.

While trying to drive away, the victim crashed into a light pole.

During the investigation, detectives found a bullet hole in a window of the Edward Jones Dome.

The suspects were described to authorities as black males with medium builds. They were also wearing black hooded sweathshirts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Louis Police Department.
