(KMOV.com) -- Scary moments for deputies in Pulaski County as they come across a bomb while searching a home. A bomb team from Fort Leonard Wood came in to secure the homemade device, but police are still searching for one suspect believed to be involved in the incident.

The deputies found the bomb in a home just south of Laquey on Shawnee Road where they arrested three people. Police said they entered the home searching for Vernon Dale Parker, Junior, who they said is a suspect in several crimes throughout the county.

Instead, authorities found the bomb and a stolen gun. Pulaski deputies said Parker stayed at that home at some point, but he’s still on the run.

“This was a homemade device, but it was made to destroy property or individuals,” said Sheriff Ronald Long in Pulaski, “So we’re going to have to be even that much more cautious when we are going after these fugitives when we are actually executing a search warrant.”

The Army’s explosive ordinance disposal unit came out and took the device to a secure site where it was detonated.

If you’ve seen him, call the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
