(KMOV.com) -- A man who admitted to cooking meth in a home daycare has been allowed to walk free, sentenced only to probation.

But News 4 has learned this isn’t the first time he’s been given a second chance.

Sergeant Jason Grellner said a Washington home was not only operating as an unlicensed daycare, it was a meth lab.

According to authorities, Chris Ingram pleaded guilty to the crime. Court records show Ingram to be a repeat offender and known parole violator; yet a judge let him walk free Thursday, out again on probation.

Judge Gael Woods didn’t return calls made by News 4.

Grellner is disappointed Ingram won’t pay his debt to society with time with time behind bars.

“It’s a frustrating situation for law enforcement,” said Grellner, “It almost seems comical, like conservation catch and release.”

Authorities said Ingram will have to be on supervised probation for the next five years and police will keep a close eye on him.
