SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- An attorney disciplinary commission has filed a complaint against a former central Illinois public defender over allegations he made unwanted sexual advances toward female clients.
The Times-Courier in Charleston reports the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission filed an Aug. 5 complaint against former Coles County public defender Lonnie Lutz.
The complaint says between 2010 and 2012, Lutz asked female clients back to his office and made the advances. The women claim he kissed and groped them. He allegedly invited one to stay with him at a conference. The complaint outlines three counts of battery.
Lutz and his attorney didn't immediately respond to messages Sunday. Lutz was public defender for 33 years, retiring in June
The ARDC is a disciplinary body. Criminal charges would have to filed by authorities.
