JENNINGS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis man is in custody and accused of breaking into, and stealing, from a church in Jennings, Missouri.

Police say Joseph Johnson III, 35, of the 4900 block of Plover Avenue, was taken into custody after police discovered electronic items in an abandon garage near Jennings.

Johnson is accused of taken electronics from the Greater Works church at 6614 West Florissant Avenue.

Police say they found Johnson covered in drywall dust, holding a bag filled with electronics and sweating behind the church at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Johnson is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing. He is currently being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
