(KMOV) – Terrance Doddy was taken into custody following a 40 minute police chase from Illinois to Wisconsin Friday morning.

According to police, Doddy’s stolen gray 2013 Nissan with Ill. license plates was spotted by a Rockton Police Officer in a wooded area at 10:12 a.m.  An Illinois State Trooper started following the vehicle and a pursuit began.

Officers said the pursuit reached speeds which exceeded 100 mph at times.

Doddy eventually lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree on Highway 81 in Rock County Wisconsin. Police said that after a short struggle, Doddy was taken into custody.

Doddy was taken to a hospital for treatment. Following treatment, officers said Doddy will be taken to Rock County Jail and held on a warrant for first degree murder.

Doddy is suspected of having a connection to the death of Tonya Bargman, 44. Officers said Bargman’s body was discovered at the Willow Creek rest stop off Interstate 39 southbound around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said surveillance video showed the woman was attacked after she left the rest room. A rest stop attendant found Bargman’s body and called authorities.

Police said surveillance photos of the rest stop showed Doddy as he left the store with items in his shopping cart.
