Carjacking in south St. Louis leads police on city-wide chase

(KMOV.com)   Police have a carjacking suspect in custody after being led on a city-wide police chase early Thursday morning. 

Just before 2:30 a.m., a couple was carjacked in the 3800 block of Osceola. Police spotted the vehicle a short time later near Meramec and Chippewa and a chase ensued.

For nearly 20 minutes, police chased the alleged suspect all over the city. At one point, during the chase, the suspect rammed into a police cruiser. No one was injured.

The chase came to an end after police laid out spike strips causing the car to stop at Louisiana and Gasconade.

The suspect was  detained  and transported to the hospital with injuries. The suspect's condition is currently unknown.
