MANCHESTER, Mo (KMOV.com) -- Two teenagers were arrested for a rash of car burglaries in Manchester, after Police  say they were selling  stolen loot on craigslist.

Authorities reportedly busted the thieves in a sting operation. Police say last month in one night they had 15 to 18 car break-ins within a two or three block area.

One of the victims saw his camera for sale on the popular classified advertisement site. Police got in touch with the seller and set up what they call a “buy bust” in a parking lot.

According to police, when they tried to arrest 19-year-old Cody Coleman, he floored his vehicle and one officer was struck.

The officer’s injuries weren’t serious, but Coleman was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Coleman was arrested along with 19-year-old Geoffry Gutmann.

Coleman was charged with felony stealing.

Police say just about every car the suspects broke into that night was left unlocked.

The stolen camera was worth a reported $1,000, and police found another video camera in the suspect’s car worth several hundred.

Police say only about ten percent of the car break-ins are from a busted window or a picked lock.
