(KMOV.com) - A Belleville man said he was shot in the shoulder while outside playing with his kids in East St. Louis.
The man, who did not want to be identified, works in East St. Louis and said he stopped by his son’s house Sunday afternoon when he was struck by a bullet. He said he was working on his son’s bike at the time. His 3-year-old and 10-year-old sons saw the shooting, they were all standing outside in the Norman E. Owens apartment complex.
“I am so glad that it hit me and it didn't hit my kids. My 3-year-old was standing right beside me,” the man said. “The 10- year-old right in front of me and also some more kids in the area were outside with them also.”
The victim said the suspects ran off.
