BELLEVILLE, Mo. (KMOV) – A Belleville man faces several charges after police said he had sex with a 13-year-old girl in St. Louis County.
Jason Monroe, 32, was charged Tuesday with three counts of first-degree statutory rape, attempted enticement of a child and misrepresenting his age to solicit a minor for sex.
Police said Monroe arranged meetings with the victim via text messages over a three-month period. Authorities said he told the girl he was 23 years old instead of 32.
Authorities he had sex with the 13-year-old on three separate occasions in July.
According to court documents, Monroe texted the girl on August 6 saying they would “do the same stuff we did last time.”
He remains in custody on a $300,000 bond.
