Police: Alton woman dragged outside home by intruder

ALTON, Ill. (KMOV) – An Alton woman was dragged from her home after a man followed her inside, according to Alton police.

 Marissa Bottnes said she was walking into her home around 4:30 p.m. In the 800 block of Logan Street when the suspect walked in behind her.
 
Bottnes said the man then allegedly dragged her outside by the straps of her purse and laptop bag. Her 14-year-old daughter was home at the time of the incident. 
 
Police allege 21-year-old Aareon Vaughn stole the victim’s purse and cell phone while 21-year-old Amber Dugan was waiting nearby in a getaway car. 
 
Alton police say there was nothing the victim could have done to help protect herself in this situation.
 
Neighbors told News 4’s Brittany Noble they heard the victim screaming and called for help. 
 
Police say they have caught the suspect and that this is an isolated incident.
