ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Two suspects believed to be involved in a home invasion and rape are in custody following a police pursuit and car crash in north St. Louis Friday night.
Officers spotted a stolen 2012 Volkswagon Passat at Union Boulevard and Saint Louis Avenue around 10:30 p.m. and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspects fled from police, then crashed into another vehicle at Natural Bridge and Goodfellow.
Investigators say they believe two of the five suspects in the car were involved in a home invasion and rape that happened Thursday night in the 3000 block of Chippewa.
Police say two suspects forced their way into the home and forced the three victims onto the ground at gunpoint. Investigators say a television, laptop, printer and three cell phones were taken from the victims. During the invasion, an 18-year-old woman was raped.
Officers say two men fled from police after the vehicle crashed, but were later captured and identified as suspects in the home invasion and rape. The three other suspects in the car were taken into custody without incident.
Narcotics and a firearm were reportedly found in the vehicle following a police search. Police have not released information about charges.
