CHICAGO (AP) -- A five-day search of a forest preserve to the southwest of Chicago has failed to turn up any trace of Stacy Peterson.

The fourth wife of former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson has been missing since October 2007. Drew Peterson was convicted in September of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Authorities presume Stacy Peterson is dead. Drew Peterson is a suspect but has never been charged in that case.

The FBI and Illinois State Police conducted the latest search in the Hammel Woods Forest Preserve in suburban Shorewood. It concluded Friday.

The area has been searched before, but state police spokeswoman Monique Bond says investigators returned because special search dogs and other resources became available.

Bond says the search was not the result of any new tips.
