BELLEVILLE, Il. (KMOV.com) -- The Belleville Police Department made three arrests Friday afternoon after a resident came home to find the rear door of his home in the 1st Block of North 31st St. ajar.
Belleville police said Duran Robinson, Donovan Smith and Damian Kelly were charged with attempted armed robbery and residential burglary. Both charges are Class 1 felonies.
According to the police report, the 23-year-old male victim noticed the back door of his residence open and immediatly went inside to investigate. When he found no one inside and walked back outside where he was confronted by four suspects; one suspect was armed with a handgun.
Authorities said the victim was ordered to the ground, but instead he ran away. The victim told police as he was running from the suspects, he noticed them run back inside the home.
The victim later chased the suspects as they re-exited the home, but the victim soon lost sight of them.
Belleville police said officers who responded to the scene located a suspicious vehicle leaving the area and then conducted a traffic stop. Two of the occupants fled on foot.
Police said one of the two subjects returned to the vehicle and the other was apprehended after a foot pursuit.
Authorities said officers conducted a vehicle search and found evidence in which they later used in the arrests
The three male suspects and an unknown female suspect were arrested at the scene.
Bond for Robison, Smith and Kelly is set at $200,000.00 each.
