(KMOV.com) – Police are looking for a man who assaulted and robbed two women in south St. Louis early Thursday morning.

According to police, two women were sitting in a Chevy Malibu in the 4400 block of Alaska around midnight when a dark gray Grand Prix pulled up alongside them.

The suspect exited the passenger side of the Grand Prix and approached the driver’s side of the victim’s car.

Police say he then pointed a gun at the driver - an armed uniformed security guard - and demanded she get out of the car and lay on the ground.

He then struck the victim in the head and took her gun.

Police say at one point the other woman got out of the vehicle and the suspect took her purse before taking off in the Chevy Malibu.

It was not known if anyone was injured.

The suspect was only described as a black male.
